Today's Mindset Change

Tonight we ran a long, slow distance (LSD) of 5.5 miles with Christian (11) and  Hannah (9).

Rachel (13) still has the chx pox and Amanya (8) stayed home with her to amuse her.

Lately I have been dragging my feet about running LSD.  Partly it is getting into Boot Camp 1.5 years ago and not wanting to just run to keep in shape, and partly it has to do with the articles I've been reading on the internet about "the death of long, slow cardio."

I guess I've been a bit brainwashed.

BUT,  reading on Jeff Galloway's site today (www.jeffgalloway.com)
and remembering how I initially lost 40 lbs. in the early 90's and got back into shape between babies, my attitude  is changing towards running as a workout.  I think it serves its purpose.

We are running more in the Elite Boot Camp and will be working on form, speed work and running drills.

Tim is very good about checking our form and giving us tips while we are running.

Time for a shower and some R and R!
